Your Table Saw Can Be Used To Do More Things Than Just Ripping - By Making Your Own Jigs For Free
If you own a table saw you owe it to yourself to make as many jigs a possible to do different jobs and tasks more easily, quicker and to perfection. If you are a woodworker you shouldn’t be missing out on the many different things you can be doing with your table saw with the use of jigs intead of just using your saw for ONLY ripping materials. A jig is a home made tool used to do tasks which otherwise you wouldn’t be able to do as well. Make as many jigs as possibe for when the time arises to use them and you can easily store them by hanging the on a wall not taking up any space.
Store bought accesories can be very expensive and can take up a lot of room. Jigs can be made very quickly and usually free from scrap materials lying around in your shop. Even if a jig wears out you can easily make another one. There is always someone out there thinking up new jigs all the time as they are a must have if you want to make the use of your saw more efficient, easier and percise. They are also easy to find just by searching on the internet and most are free but you might have to pay for some but they are worth the investment as you will save even with a couple uses. Jigs will also Save time and money with the materials you throw away because of a poor cut. Just the feeling of doing a really great on that next project will make it all worth while.
I have been a kitchen cabinet builder for a long time and I wouldn’t be able to do without the jig I now have as they are a must to do a perfect job faster and easier. Go ahead make as many jigs as possible, you won’t be sorry take it from me. Have fun with your next project.
