Do you like what you have but dont like your room? Heres the solution: pull your rooms together so they look finished and professionally decorated by following these techniques to add the wow to your rooms! (Ive used them in hundreds of homes!).

1. Paint the walls and ceiling a rich, warm neutral color or one of the colors in your rooms fabrics. Your furnishings will immediately look more at home. I call it marrying your architecture to your furnishings.

2. Next, move your seating away from the walls and group it around a fireplace, a view window or any logical focal point.

3. Now, add a generous area rug to accent and unify your entire seating area.

4. Fill any empty looking corners with large plants and soft up-lights. Add a decorative, folding screen for a fuller look.

5. Place your lamps to evenly and softly light your seating area. Use additional lighting to accent your artwork, collections and accessories.

6. Create a focal point on the coffee table by elevating one of your favorite accessories on a stack of several books (sans covers). This will give your treasure more presence. Then add a low, full green plant or a blooming orchid and a couple of large, glowing candles. If you like a fuller look, use a decorative tray or runner underneath.

7. Lastly, be sure to decorate the top half of your room (from the furniture up), with tall plants, window treatments, artwork and that wall color. The room will feel considerably larger, more interesting and most importantly finished!

These few changes will make all the difference so you can start enjoying living in a beautiful home!

Product Description

If you spend long hours on hard concrete, wood or tile floors you know how tired your feet, legs and back are at the end of the day. Those hard, non-forgiving surfaces force your skeletal structure–bones, joints and muscles–to absorb all the punishment of repetitive standing, stepping, moving and bending. We placed these unique pads in our warehouse over the concrete floor in areas where we stand for long periods–like the area where we prepare customer orders for shipment. WHAT a difference! We’ve noticed a substantial increase in the amount of time we’re able to stand on concrete without feeling like we just ran 10 miles. Tabbed edges fit together firmly and stay together even with the twisting movement of foot traffic. They’ve been extremely durable and resistant to cuts and tears when heavy metal objects were dropped on them. Great for garage, workshop, laundry, play room, workout room. Super-easy to clean: just pick up and shake or hose off with water; can be glued for permanent installation. One set includes four 2-foot square, 3/8-thick pads to cover 16 square feet in square, lengthwise or any way you need to fit your area. One-year warranty and Jack’s Tool Shed worry-free Satisfaction Guarantee.

I was a bit concerned at first because I was going to use this flooring over carpet, but it works great. After buying some double sided carpet tape, it doesn’t slide and adds great absorbency for my aerobic workouts.

The Bonsai Braided Money Plant Tree

February 28, 2009 | Category:Articles-Host | Author: admin

Bonsai trees can be a great hobby and a wonderful way to add interest to your garden or inside your home. They take a minimal of care and the ability to train and prune them can be a great creative outlet. Not all bonsai trees are the same and there are many different types of trees that can be interesting to grow. A favorite for bonsai enthusiasts is the braided money plant tree as it is easy to grow and makes a great indoor plant.

The braided bonsai money plant tree, also known as Pachira aquatica, is a miniature tree characterized by multiple intertwining trunks. Each tree is actually four to five separate trees with their trunks braided together. Its size varies anywhere from 10-18 inches tall. (Full-grown money plant trees can reach 7 feet tall.) The tree is topped with large, bright green leaves that form a tuft at the tip of each stem.

The braided bonsai money plant tree is usually given as a gift, as it is reputed to bring good luck. Generally, the more leaves the money tree has, the better! While it is common to find money trees with five to six leaves on each stem, it is quite rare to find one with seven leaves. Like a four-leaf clover, a money plant tree with a seven-leaf stem is considered to bring incredibly good fortune.

The braided bonsai money plant tree is also a mainstay in feng shui. Feng shui practitioners believe that the braided bonsai creates positive energy for any room that it placed in. According to this belief, you should place your money tree in the “financial” part of your home or office. Each new leaf of the tree will then bring added financial blessing and success.

The Pachira aquatica is an easy bonsai to grow; it is ideal for indoor cultivation. Unlike other bonsai, it is quite hardy. It can thrive for many years with minimal care. It is tolerant of both low light conditions and dryness. All you will need is a little bit of soil to hold the roots. Other than that, brief exposure to sunlight and weekly watering will be enough to make the plant thrive.

The amount of water you give your plant is critical and one common mistake that many beginning plant owners make is over watering. This can actually kill your plant! You want to be sure to water so that the soil is moist but you don’t want to put so much in so that there is standing water in the planter.

If you are a bonsai beginner, the braided bonsai can be ideal for you! (And the added luck couldn’t hurt.) Even if the braided bonsai money plant tree you acquire seems to have damaged leaves, don’t worry. Those leaves will drop off and beautiful leaves will sprout up in their place. Enjoy both your tree and your newfound luck!

Easy Concrete Pavers

February 26, 2009 | Category:Articles-Host | Author: admin

Lets walk through the process.

1 - Buy or make a mold. 3 or 4 would be better, you will finish quickly and not loose momentum.

2 - Estimate the amount of concrete you will have to mix to fill the mold. I fill the mold with water and pour it into a 2 liter container to do this. You can use sand if your form will not hold water.

3 - Set up your mold so that it will be level and secure when you pour.

4 - Coat the inside of the mold with release agent. This is a trick way of saying oil. I use 10w engine oil. Buy the cheapest you can get. Don’t use to much. If it puddles you may get pitting on the surface of your paver.

5 - Mix your concrete. I would use a 1 - of cement, 2 - of sand, 3 - of 1/2″ aggregate mix for this. This is called a 1 2 3 mix, and is the mix most often used for these types of jobs.

Another way would be to buy redi-mixed concrete, but if you need a lot of these that would be expensive.

You should your concrete mix heavy enough that it will just pour. If you have to help it out of the container that is ok. You do not want a pourable mix like you would use for making decorative castings.

6- Dump the concrete into the mold and Wait at least 48 hours. De mold and place in a cool area to cure for another week. Keep the casting damp during this time. At the end of the week the paver can be set out to dry and use.

7 - Start to build your pathway! Brag to your friends about how you made the paving stones yourself!
