How To Bring Your Living Room To Life

January 31, 2009 | Category:Articles-Host | Author: admin

Do you like what you have but dont like your room? Heres the solution: pull your rooms together so they look finished and professionally decorated by following these techniques to add the wow to your rooms! (Ive used them in hundreds of homes!).

1. Paint the walls and ceiling a rich, warm neutral color or one of the colors in your rooms fabrics. Your furnishings will immediately look more at home. I call it marrying your architecture to your furnishings.

2. Next, move your seating away from the walls and group it around a fireplace, a view window or any logical focal point.

3. Now, add a generous area rug to accent and unify your entire seating area.

4. Fill any empty looking corners with large plants and soft up-lights. Add a decorative, folding screen for a fuller look.

5. Place your lamps to evenly and softly light your seating area. Use additional lighting to accent your artwork, collections and accessories.

6. Create a focal point on the coffee table by elevating one of your favorite accessories on a stack of several books (sans covers). This will give your treasure more presence. Then add a low, full green plant or a blooming orchid and a couple of large, glowing candles. If you like a fuller look, use a decorative tray or runner underneath.

7. Lastly, be sure to decorate the top half of your room (from the furniture up), with tall plants, window treatments, artwork and that wall color. The room will feel considerably larger, more interesting and most importantly finished!

These few changes will make all the difference so you can start enjoying living in a beautiful home!

This product is awesome. I love and have ordered 3 now. I choose the seller, Black Tai Salt Company and have been so happy with their service, shipping and product. The product is beautiful! I love it and bought 2 more for gifts. Black Tai Salt Company has THE BEST customer service I have ever dealt with. They are a great company. I plan to order another one, even larger soon and I will be sure to use Black Tai Salt Company. I love these salt lamps, they have a beautiful glow, are unique and the have a nice weight to them. Everyone that has seen mine wants one, they are beautiful.

Well I’d say this is definitely one of the oddest things I own now. Neat in appearance the rock itself has a milky pink color to it. Add the electric bulb inside (a decent sized one in mine but apparently random according to the other reviews) and that milky pink turns into a shadowy red. Very unique lighting as 2-3 of these lights a room well enough for activity but dark enough for that special privacy *wink*.

Only issue I had is that the "beautiful" wooden bottom (bottom rung wood poorly screwed to the bottom of the rock itself) which was not exactly easy to detach from the rock. When I took it out of the box the bulb was loose inside of the hollow of the rock and could have shattered during it’s journey. Besides this excellent timely delivery, perfect product… what else do you need right?

This is an interesting all-natural product deep from the bowels of the earth. The light source inside makes this rock salt glow beautifully. It is a very nice touch in any room.

I ordered 2 of these salt lamps…the first one came and is wonderful. The warming glow is beautiful. I had to contact the seller to find out where the second one was. It finally arrived and was NOTHING as expected. Not even the same style. It is cut off on the top and has a tealight type metal cup in it. Which I don’t understand the purpose of since it is an electrical lamp and no candle is necessary for it’s use.

Both lamps are running in my home now and we are hoping to find the results as described.

Home Improvements - Planning

January 31, 2009 | Category:Articles-Host | Author: admin

Home decorating is one of the keys to making the most out of a home. Do it right and you can turn a pedestrian home into a castle.

Really good interior designers interview family members prior to making a plan and recommendations for changes in a home’s interior design and decoration. You and your family can benefit if you take the same approach when you’re in a do it yourself mode. It doesn’t matter whether you are moving to a new home and have a big project or are just freshening up one room. Family interviews are the place to start.

What Activities Need to be Accommodated?

Large project or small, begin by figuring out how your family is going to use the space. Let’s assume we’re talking about a whole house. Meet with each family member and ask them how they feel about an array of things. Don’t forget to answer for yourself, too.

Consider the following issues with family members:

1. Will reading be a popular activity?

2. TV and movie viewing?

3. Playing electronic games?

4. Computer use for homework or business?

5. Sleepovers for the younger generation?

6. Sewing?

7. Furniture refinishing?

8. Carpentry and wood working projects?

9. Dinner parties?

10. Is there something new a family member would like to try if there were a decent spot for it? (I do hope your son doesn’t tell you he’d like to learn to play the drums! The violin was bad enough.)

11. Will the activities be done by someone alone or will a group be involved?

12. Do you or your husband need to be nearby to oversee the activity?

13. Is having it occur within view of (or out of site of) something else important?

Obviously, there are going to be unique questions per the circumstances of your family. If you make a list and ask appropriate questions, the improvements on your home will lead to happy family living.

Attracting Birds To Your Garden

January 30, 2009 | Category:Articles-Host | Author: admin

Firstly, birds will be attracted by the geographic location of your garden.

To find out which birds are in the geographic area of your garden at the moment, you will have to consult specialty magazines and documentations. Maybe even the weather guy can provide some information regarding this aspect although this is not always true. Libraries and book stores have books based on migration, on the roads that some bird species take to get to their summer or winter residence. Also, taking pictures of birds you see around you and then reading informative materials that you already have, or searching for information related to them can be an option to find out if these bird are going to make a stop in the area that you live in.

Birds need water. This is highly important. A bath or a pool, no matter the size or the material, would instantly attract many bird families, even wild ducks and gooses to the vicinity.

If you could also arrange a place where they could find some food, bird seeds, bread or anything else they might like, that would increase the chances they might appear somewhere in your garden. You can try, for instance with corn. Seeds of any type also hold an answer to the question related to attracting birds towards your garden. The seeds that almost all birds prefer are sun-flower seeds, extremely easy to find, and cheap to buy also. Before buying the seeds, you should make a list of all the birds that you have spotted in the area and research every bird’s food preferences to assure you can provide food for many types of birds present.

These are the first steps that you have to make to attract birds in your garden. The second step is keeping away all the things that might scare or disturb birds in or around your garden. Animals from the next garden and neighbor’s dogs can scare the birds. Maybe ask the neighbors to keep the dogs chained or in the house, because persistent dog barking may not allow the birds to settle in your garden.

Also, you must know that some birds do not agree with each other, so that a certain species might avoid your garden because there is another species in it. Some can also stay away because of the fact you have children and the noise is too loud, and others can stay away because the place doesn’t look natural enough. So, knowing their nature and customs can be a decisive factor in bringing particular birds to your backyard.

Purchasing Framed Art For Your Home or Office - a Novel Way to Decorate

January 29, 2009 | Category:Articles-Host | Author: admin

Framed art is an ideal compliment to any room of your home or office. Decorating an environment using framed artwork is quick, easy and is usually relatively inexpensive. People generally choose framed art because it matches their decor, or because they like the actual piece and conducting this selection can be great fun because the choice is simply huge.

Today, there are currently thousands of artists who have allowed their work to be transferred into framed prints. But this is not a new thing. The world has appreciated the work of artists for many years. While many of the modern day artists go unannounced to the world, many others already have stamped their mark on the world. Pablo Picasso, Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, and many other classic artists will live on through their artwork forever and buying print versions of their work is both popular and common.

Appreciating the work of artists - irrespective of whether they are known or unknown is an important part of the cultural aspect of life. In order to be a well-rounded person, it helps to build a healthy appreciation for art. A great way to show your admiration is through the purchase and display of framed art. Framed art prints are less expensive than actual paintings so this lets you enjoy the many options for decorating your environment.

Purchasing framed art for your home or office is a novel way to decorate. Framed prints are available of nearly every famous painting or photograph. But what piece do you buy? You can start with a neutral wall paint and then add color by placing framed art on the wall and then add some matching throw cushions to your couch. Because framed art is relatively inexpensive you are then free to change the look from season to season depending on your mood, the weather or a special event.

If you are going to decorate or redecorate a room or office, framed art is a quick and easy solution because the selection of artists and prints is enormous. Prints - otherwise known as framed art - can be a copy of any type of artwork, including paintings, photographs, and more. Prints are very affordable, and look great when they are framed. Framed art prints are sold as bundles or sets together, as well as separately. If you find a great print from a resource that does not sell frames, you can purchase a frame separately.

The frame you choose depends on your tastes and preferences. You can even consider purchasing a cheap $2 print and dress it with an expensive frame for a really tasteful look. Framed artwork can vary in price and quality. Frames can be simple, or more elaborate, depending on the price. If you are going to purchase the frame separate from the painting, you need to decide if you want it to match the artwork, or your decor. Either way, the artwork is going to look great framed and is usually really enhanced by the frame that you choose.
