How To Bring Your Living Room To Life

December 5, 2008 | Category:Articles-Host | Author: admin

Do you like what you have but dont like your room? Heres the solution: pull your rooms together so they look finished and professionally decorated by following these techniques to add the wow to your rooms! (Ive used them in hundreds of homes!).

1. Paint the walls and ceiling a rich, warm neutral color or one of the colors in your rooms fabrics. Your furnishings will immediately look more at home. I call it marrying your architecture to your furnishings.

2. Next, move your seating away from the walls and group it around a fireplace, a view window or any logical focal point.

3. Now, add a generous area rug to accent and unify your entire seating area.

4. Fill any empty looking corners with large plants and soft up-lights. Add a decorative, folding screen for a fuller look.

5. Place your lamps to evenly and softly light your seating area. Use additional lighting to accent your artwork, collections and accessories.

6. Create a focal point on the coffee table by elevating one of your favorite accessories on a stack of several books (sans covers). This will give your treasure more presence. Then add a low, full green plant or a blooming orchid and a couple of large, glowing candles. If you like a fuller look, use a decorative tray or runner underneath.

7. Lastly, be sure to decorate the top half of your room (from the furniture up), with tall plants, window treatments, artwork and that wall color. The room will feel considerably larger, more interesting and most importantly finished!

These few changes will make all the difference so you can start enjoying living in a beautiful home!

I live in a studio apartment with two cats and a cruel cat allergy. Before going to bed I turn it on to low by my bedside and I never have allergy attacks.
It gets a little louder when it’s on high but not more than the AC.

I ordered two of the TrueAir 04381 Air Cleaners recently. They arrived this week. One of them is in the family room. I dust and vacuum my home regularly but we still needed some extra assistance in our master bedroom and family room. The dust particles could be seen in the late afternoon when the sun beamed through the family room windows. The family room is a large room but I put another Fabreze wall mount air cleaner in another area of the space in addition to the True Air cleaner. That seems to be all that’s needed. We have two other UV air cleaners in the house which were more expensive. The two True Air cleaners have done the **best** immediate job of cleaning the air. They are very reasonably priced even with the filter replacements. I will follow the guidelines which recommend changing out the filters every three months. The effort and expense is worth every cent in minimizing colds, flu, and other bacterial menaces. If I find some problem with these after a few months, I will return to this review and report the problems. So far, we’re finding these two items really do the job and we’re very happy with the product.

I am not sure how fine the particles are that get trapped, but in terms of actual dust in the air … It really works. In fact, it works so well that the front intake screen has gotten covered with a visible layer of brown dust (which I wipe off).

I never noticed my house being all that ‘dusty’ … but given the amount of dust collected in the filter and on the front of the unit, I am sure it is working and doing a lot for my home.

First and foremost, this machine has changed my life. I only use this machine in my bedroom and only operate it at night. In the months that I have owned it, I never wake up with a sore lump in my throat anymore. I never wake up with a stuffy nose. These two things alone would be reason enough to recommend this.

But, the mackdaddy of all reasons is that this machine (while relatively quiet on medium setting) makes it so that I cannot hear my neighbor’s dog barking. This has really changed my life! I would have never imagined that I could be this free from the terrorism that was my neighbor’s dog barking when I was trying to sleep. There was nothing we could do about it because it was intermittent and the neighbors are never home to silence the dog until late at night. These neighbors are psycho as well and best left to avoid communication altogether.

Now, I even feel fond thoughts toward the dog that I used to lay awake red-eyed, wishing it would keel over. I bought an extra air purifier, just in case mine dies. That is how much I recommend this product.

This thing works for snoring, too! I do not sleep in the same bedroom as my husband because he snores. Now, when we have guests that need my bed, I gladly cough it up and go sleep in the bed with my husband because when I crank this thing on high, I can barely hear a thing! WONDERFUL!

By the way, I only have to change my filter every 4-5 months since I don’t operate it that much and I buy mine at Target’s brick and mortar store.

I don’t have a lot of problems with allergies, but I was having some problems with dust irritating my sinuses. I started looking around for an air purifier and found that for my problem that I didn’t need a really high end type of purifier. This unit is a good little filterer and meets my needs perfectly. If I run it for two days on low the air seems sweeter, cleaner. The difference is obvious. My house is small and so is this unit. I can move it around and I feel that I am getting the results that I had hoped for. On low speed it is quiet enough to sleep with in the room. On medium or high setting the sound level is higher than I would want in the same room with me at night. A side benefit is that it moves the air effectively.
The specifications show that it uses 60 watts, I assume that’s on high setting, so on low I think that it must be significantly lower, which is where I use it most. It does seem effective on low. I have already found replacement filters at Target for about $10.00. After about two months use the filter does not seem to be anywhere near the end of it’s life cycle.
While this may not be the best choice for people with higher filtration and purifying needs, it is perfect for my situation. I’m glad that I didn’t spend more for a unit that is larger and has more features than I really needed. It was delivered quickly for about $50.00 total.

Enhance The Look Of Your Child’s Room With Customized Blinds

December 5, 2008 | Category:Articles-Host | Author: admin

One of the many joys and jobs you have as a parent is to help decorate your child’s bedroom. Children enjoy being a part of the decorating process, which means you may end up with wonderfully imagined themes and interesting colors. Everything in your child’s room can be incorporated into the decor you have chosen together, and the blinds on the windows are certainly no exception. By opting for customized blinds or altering existing blinds, you can ensure that your child has the room that he or she envisioned with you.

The first option is to, of course, order customized blinds for the bedroom. The options available are virtually endless. If there is something you want on your child’s blinds: a color, a photo, or even a logo, you will be able to find a company that offers it. Just be prepared to pay for it, though. Keep in mind, though, that you do not want to have to buy new custom blinds every year, so help your youngster choose something that will be just as cool or popular over time as it is now.

If you don’t want to wait for a custom blind order to go through at your local home improvement store, then consider finding custom blinds that are already made. Though that may venture away from the truest definition of custom, you can find almost anything you want online. What’s more, by ordering online you are speeding the process up quite a bit. Do a search for the color, theme, size, or special effect you are looking for with your blinds.

Another option is to customize the blinds you already have or to buy off the shelf and customize. Assuming that the sizes available work with your child’s windows, there is a lot you can do with blinds yourself. Painting is the biggest thing you can do. You and your child can come up with a pattern or color and paint the blinds together. The other option is to have your child actually draw a picture on the blinds that you can paint together. Seeing a drawing they created is something that can be exciting for your child initially and can go on to spark nostalgia as time passes. Just make sure you have blinds that are made of a material that takes paint well. It is advisable to test out the paint on an extra slat.

Decorating your child’s room can be incredibly fun and satisfying. There is certainly no reason that every part of the room, including the blinds, can’t be a part of the theme of the room decoration. With that in mind, consider customized blinds for your kid’s room. Order them at your favorite home improvement store, order them online, or customize them yourself. No matter what you choose, though, you and your child will have something you have done together and can be proud of.
