How To Bring Your Living Room To Life

November 6, 2008 | Category:Articles-Host | Author: admin

Do you like what you have but dont like your room? Heres the solution: pull your rooms together so they look finished and professionally decorated by following these techniques to add the wow to your rooms! (Ive used them in hundreds of homes!).

1. Paint the walls and ceiling a rich, warm neutral color or one of the colors in your rooms fabrics. Your furnishings will immediately look more at home. I call it marrying your architecture to your furnishings.

2. Next, move your seating away from the walls and group it around a fireplace, a view window or any logical focal point.

3. Now, add a generous area rug to accent and unify your entire seating area.

4. Fill any empty looking corners with large plants and soft up-lights. Add a decorative, folding screen for a fuller look.

5. Place your lamps to evenly and softly light your seating area. Use additional lighting to accent your artwork, collections and accessories.

6. Create a focal point on the coffee table by elevating one of your favorite accessories on a stack of several books (sans covers). This will give your treasure more presence. Then add a low, full green plant or a blooming orchid and a couple of large, glowing candles. If you like a fuller look, use a decorative tray or runner underneath.

7. Lastly, be sure to decorate the top half of your room (from the furniture up), with tall plants, window treatments, artwork and that wall color. The room will feel considerably larger, more interesting and most importantly finished!

These few changes will make all the difference so you can start enjoying living in a beautiful home!

This chair is really not as cushy and relaxing as a thickly padded lounger. The anti-gravity benefit doesn’t compensate for that to me. It just feels like I am sitting in a chair with my feet up. The seat material is slick/taut/stiff. It weighs as much as any other similar lounger and the hard plastic handles bug me. The sliding adjustment requires some effort, and fingers can get caught badly in/around the locking loops. The chair feels narrow - not flimsy though. It’s not badly constructed, but it just doesn’t ring my bell.

We purchased two of these units, and have been pleased with our purchase so far. They are easy to get in to and out of, which for us seniors, is a big thing. A little heavy, but that goes with being well constructed.

I ordered mine the night before last and had it sent to DC via Free Shipping, and I just got it - very fast!

As far as the packaging is concerned, it was just put in a plastic bag and then put in the box. It’s clearly a very durable chair so it isn’t much of a concern, although it was a little dirty from the box. Note that it is not a light chair - it is made for the patio. That’s exactly what I’m looking for so I’m happy.

It is also VERY comfortable. You can sit upright or lean back to recline (requiring some energy to lean), and it has a locking mechanism which you can set at any point.

My only thoughts for improvement is that it really should come with some directions for setting up. I say that because it isn’t clear how exactly it is done. I quickly learned, but I sat in it before the base legs were spread completely apart and I could have hurt myself (I almost did). So if anyone buys note that to set it up you must ensure that the front and back bottom legs must be pushed entirely apart, and at that point the chair will be in the upright position. This might not make sense now but it will once you do it. After figuring it out I realized it’s easy, but some directions would be useful just so no one hurts themselves.

All in all a great purchase and definitely worth the price.

The chair is indeed light wieght and seems to be very durable and weather resistant. Althought it’s very light for its size, I wouldn’t say it is portable. In fact, it’s quite bulky and difficult to carry around. BUT I have to admit it is very comfy –as advertised. However, It’s not made for petites! I am 5 feet tall and cannot come back to sitting position without help. You are supposed to use the bar at the bottom of the chair to help yourself by pushing it when you want to come from horizontal position to sitting position but I don’t reach the bar so I cannot use it. I need to use my husband’s help instead. If you’re short like me and still decide to purchase this chair, make sure you’re not alone when you recline in it or you may find yourself resting in your chair for days until help comes to rescue you.

The frame is good. The fabric tore apart, next to the seam, in less than 4 months of normal use making the DELUXE chair junk. I came back online to see if I could find a warranty for this product. I was not able to find one!

Easy Garden Propagate Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) - 3 Easy Ways

November 6, 2008 | Category:Articles-Host | Author: admin

This perennial is easy to grow in full sun and well drained, light soil. Three ways to propagate rosemary are: from seeds, from cuttings and by layering.

1. From seeds: germination of the rosemary seeds is extremely slow and so is the growing of the tiny seedlings. That’s why this is the least favorite of the three choices. Although, if you have patience and want to try and grow your own seedlings or test different species of Rosmarinus, go ahead and give it a try. Just make sure you follow the instructions on the package.

2. From stem cuttings: cut the soft wood at the tip of the branch (2 to 6 inches long). Remember that shorter cuttings mean more compact plants. There are two more basic rules that should not be ignored: use a clean, sharp knife to cut and the mildest strength hormone rooting powder for softwood cuttings (if any). The material for rooting should be sterile (perlite, washed sand, powdered styrofoam, vermiculite, or a mixture of any of those in equal proportions). Do not pack the material tightly around the stems to prevent damaging during removal of the rooted cuttings. Before planting the cuttings, strip at least half of the leaves from the stem. Insert into a rooting material about half stem deep, angled at about 45 degrees.

>3. Simple layering: is the simplest way of propagation with rosemary. It almost never fails. Simply choose the branch that will bend easily to touch the ground. Dig a small hole and press the branch in it. Fill the depression with soil and firm well. To keep the branch in place and preventing the new roots from being lifted out of the ground put the rock or a brick over the buried branch spot. See the photo at: http://www.thesunflowergardens.com/page/page/3768454.htm/ Water well. Six to eight weeks later your new plant should have enough roots for the attachment to the parent plant to be cut. Young rosemary is now ready to be transplanted to a new spot.

In a warm, sunny climate your rosemary will grow fast and year round. You will have plenty for flavor in the kitchen as well as to put it in the vase and have that naturally fresh and clean smell in your home.
