How To Bring Your Living Room To Life

November 2, 2008 | Category:Articles-Host | Author: admin

Do you like what you have but dont like your room? Heres the solution: pull your rooms together so they look finished and professionally decorated by following these techniques to add the wow to your rooms! (Ive used them in hundreds of homes!).

1. Paint the walls and ceiling a rich, warm neutral color or one of the colors in your rooms fabrics. Your furnishings will immediately look more at home. I call it marrying your architecture to your furnishings.

2. Next, move your seating away from the walls and group it around a fireplace, a view window or any logical focal point.

3. Now, add a generous area rug to accent and unify your entire seating area.

4. Fill any empty looking corners with large plants and soft up-lights. Add a decorative, folding screen for a fuller look.

5. Place your lamps to evenly and softly light your seating area. Use additional lighting to accent your artwork, collections and accessories.

6. Create a focal point on the coffee table by elevating one of your favorite accessories on a stack of several books (sans covers). This will give your treasure more presence. Then add a low, full green plant or a blooming orchid and a couple of large, glowing candles. If you like a fuller look, use a decorative tray or runner underneath.

7. Lastly, be sure to decorate the top half of your room (from the furniture up), with tall plants, window treatments, artwork and that wall color. The room will feel considerably larger, more interesting and most importantly finished!

These few changes will make all the difference so you can start enjoying living in a beautiful home!

We bought this for my 2.5yr old when we were going on vacation. He absolutely loved it, one for its size which was bigger than his toddler bed and second because it was so comfortable. We loved how quickly it inflated - I don’t even think it takes 30 seconds- honestly! After buying this matress based on the reviews stating that the durability was excellent, we were greatly disappointed when on day 2 of our 6 night vacation the matress went flat due to an obvious rip on the seam. I was so very mad. Fortunately we were able to buy some duct tape at the store to create a make-shift patch that did the trick for the remainder of the vacation. I did expect better durability for the cost but otherwise its a great product. One review that I read stated that it was noisy- I did not find that to be the case and my son moves all over the place at night.

Love the bed-100% better than the cheap versions. My kids love to sleep in it-nice built in bumper-comes with a nice fleece fitted sheet/pump and travel bag.

I purchased this bed for our very large 16 month old who has never slept well in travel cribs or in pack-n-plays. We have now been traveling for almost four weeks and he is really sleeping well on it. The bed sets up so quickly and is really compact when deflated and rolled up in the included bag. We carried it on the plane as a personal item with no problem although it could also easily fit inside a suitcase with room to spare. The raised sides have kept him from rolling off every night except one and even then the bed is so low to the floor that it wasn’t an issue. I would highly recommend this product on anyone. The bed does come with a very nice sheet with elastic straps to hold it into place. The straps keep the sheet secure but if your child is very active in their sleep, the fabric moving around on the matteras can make a bit of noise. My only recommendations to improve the product would be if they could cover the top of the actual bed with the velvet like covering that comes on some of their adult size models. I think that would solve the noise issue and give the matteras a slightly nicer feel. All in all, a great product!

When our 3-year-old grandson outgrew his crib, we bought the Aero bed for Kids. It’s perfect
for him. There’s room for an adult to lie down with the child if necessary. Some reviewers
have complained about the bed being noisy. Ours is not. It is on carpeting at the foot of our bed.
I would not hesitate to purchase another Aero Bed for Kids if needed.

This is a great sturdy kids travel bed. My 3 year old loves it & it looks like it could last a few years. We bought a different air-bed first because of the weight - it was poorly made(couldn’t hold air thru the night & the pump was broken) I promptly returned it.

Siding for Homeowners

November 2, 2008 | Category:Articles-Host | Author: admin

Importance of Siding
Exterior siding can be a valuable addition to your home. For one thing, new external siding can be great for improving the curb appeal of your home. In addition, it can assist in reducing the cost of maintenance on your home over the long haul. In order to truly understand, though, it is important to take a closer look at the important aspects of siding.

Though siding is available in a number of materials, the most popular are vinyl, aluminum and wood. What works best for you will depend greatly upon where your home is located, but vinyl is generally the most popular choice in most any climate. It is easy on the budget and the maintenance of it is virtually non-existent. That non-existent maintenance is perhaps the greatest virtue of exterior siding. It is like a shield on your home that protects it from damage and protects you from the work that comes with that damage.

Another advantage to siding is its ability to help with the cosmetics of your home. Most siding, no matter the material, can be found in a number of colors. Colored siding means no painting so that your home’s color is even and doesn’t peal. That in itself is a huge cosmetic benefit, but it is not the only one. Siding can also be purchased in a number of textures giving you a unique look to go with the color you select. For much less effort and significantly less cost, then, you can give your home a unique color and texture that will have an even look and won’t peal off.

Finally, siding is easier to clean than brick or sheer walls. Whether you choose to go with wood, aluminum, or vinyl, exterior siding offers an easier cleaning surface than the original exterior of your home. In many cases, it can simply be hosed off. If not, though, you will need little more than a power washer and some light soap. Your home will not only have a more even color, but will be easier to clean and thus look better for those passing by.

Exterior siding is valuable to your home for a variety of reasons. It gives you curb appeal that you may not have had before, eases the long term maintenance you have to perform on your home’s exterior, and allows you an easier way to keep the exterior of your home looking clean without having to repaint. Overall, by looking at these advantages, you can see that putting siding on your home can truly be a valuable addition.

Vinyl Siding Cost
As a consumer, the dollar drives many of your decisions, right? There is no reason you should treat your case for siding any differently than you would any other type of purchase. So once you have started looking at vinyl siding, you should start considering the cost associated with it. What are those costs? There are a few to consider. You must look at the cost of the product, the cost of installation, and the cost of maintaining it.

First of all, the product: there are actually a number of varying types of vinyl siding that offer up a number of price points. For instance, depending on factors like foam in the pieces for sound proofing as well as insulation, vinyl siding can go from less than one dollar rather all the way up to $1.75 per square foot, depending on who you go through to get it.

Secondly, you have to consider the cost of the installation. It is incredibly difficult to put your own siding up, so that is why you will have to have it installed by a professional. Check your area, and find three or four you like. Then, interview them to find out which one will work best for you. It is hard to estimate what it will cost you to have your vinyl installed, since it will be determined by the market in your area in that time of year. The worse the weather, the more installation will cost. That is why you should always get multiple quotes. That way you at least have a way to understand what the market is for having your roof installed.

Thirdly, there is the cost of maintaining your vinyl siding. It is virtually nothing, since that is about how much you have to do to vinyl siding to keep it working well and looking nice. You should clean it once a year, which leaves you with the bill for either a garden hose, or if it is really dirty, a power washer. Other than that, your vinyl siding is maintenance free and so costs very little for you to maintain it.

Cost is a major factor when you have to have any work done to your home. So when you decide that vinyl is what you want your siding to be, then you have to figure out what your budget is. By examining what the product costs, the installation costs, and what the cost of maintaining your vinyl siding is, you can make a better decision about the budget you need to set and the specifics surrounding your vinyl.
