Product Description

The Charleston is made of smooth, clean, unfinished poplar hardwood, not pine. Many of the pine frames on the market have a rough splintery feel. Pine averages 18% moisture content, our hardwood is kiln dried to 8%, which means it’s far less likley to split or warp. This pure untreated wood is preferred by many consumers seeking a natural, hypo-allergenic alternative to todays chemical laden products. We have been selling furniture since 1984 and these are the finest quality unfinished bed frames we have seen. *Assembly required.

The bed came within a couple of weeks and was intact. It was very easy to put together and the wood looks very nice. Good buy…

Smoothly finished, simple construction. Slats fit into pockets along side rails. Took about 20 minutes to assemble with included hex wrench and my own phillips-head screwdriver. Poplar wood has nice scent, also! Made in Georgia, USA.

This is a nontoxic, cloth liner that is perfect for any shower.
Washable, and looks great. This is my second one for the house.

So far I’ve had this curtain hanging for a few weeks and it does a pretty good job of keeping the water out. It dries relatively quick and mildew hasn’t yet formed on it. When it does, based on previous reviews, I’m sure I won’t have any problems cleaning it.

Review date : 2008-07-21
This is a terrific shower curtain liner that is waterproof, good looking and inexpensive….i use it as my shower curtain as it is that pretty (it has a subtle white on white stripe) no chemical smell and it supposedly can be washed but mine looks fine and i havn’t had to wash it.

Review date : 2008-05-01
No matter what we tried, our nylon shower curtain got moldy. Whichever side of it rested against the tub never dried completely. A fabric curtain changed that. The nylon (decorative) curtain stays on the outside of the tub, and the fabric one on the inside. The fabric curtain dries fine, and it’s washable, so it’s easy maintenance. This one is even nice enough to work as the one and only curtain on your shower.

Review date : 2008-04-21
This is a nice shower curtain liner. I used it behind a clear shower curtain with flamingoes on it and it looks really nice. You can’t see through it. I like the fabric a lot and for 10 dollars you just can’t beat it! Not so sure about the mildew resistance…

I bought a trundle bed made by Woodforms, a Mass. company. Somewhere I read a bad review of Room Dr., that they don’t give prices on the website (they don’t and it’s annoying) and then the price was more than quoted.
My experience went flawlessly. Unfortunately, the picture of my bed on the website is awful, but the product is beautifully made by a small company of craftsmen. I asked Carol if she could have them rush delivery and they did at no extra charge. She also called to see if everything went okay with delivery and the bed.

JUNK………MISLEADING ADVERTISING……..

WOULD NOT EVEN GIVE IT ONE STAR…HAD TO…TO WRITE A REVIEW

Review date : 2007-06-08
These drawers went together easily, stained well and are a great place for the kids video games, controllers, DVDs, all that little stuff that drives a mother crazy. Out of sight - not out of my mind -

Review date : 2007-01-23
We had previously purchased those metal baskets that slide under the bed on wheels- but they were flimsy and cheaply made. These drawers were the exact thing we were looking for. We were able to fit 4 drawers comfortable under our standard queen bed and they easily glide over the carpet on the large plastic wheels. They are very well constructed and easy to put together- definately worth the money!

Customer Reviews

Review date : 2008-04-28
This item is for a heavy duty application, for the light weight curtains, its too much. It was not good for my use.

Review date : 2008-04-11
These constantly are falling off the shower rod. How could anyone sell a shower curtain hook that doesn’t at least stay on the bar?

Review date : 2008-03-31
I didn’t have the experience that some describe of the hooks falling off the rod or the balls coming unsecured. Also they’re not noisy unless you jump out of the shower like Superman! They look and feel very high end considering the low price.

Review date : 2008-02-08
These hooks are too heavy - and the hook doesn’t curl around the rod enough and they fall off. They’re heavy and don’t move across the bar easily.

Review date : 2007-09-16
These hooks are poorly made (fall apart), but the worst aspect of these hooks is their weight. One fell off the rod, hit my bathtub and took a huge chunk of porcelain off the edge. The tub was brand new; it now looks awful.

Don’t Just Decorate It - Accessorize It!

July 27, 2008 | Category:Articles-Host | Author: admin

Accessories are what turn a bland bedroom into a designer show piece! Accessorizing your bedroom is a very important aspect in the decorating process. When you buy a new outfit it is greatly enhanced with jewelery, scarves and purses for women and ties or watches for men. A bedroom is no different! You can add character and beauty to a home in many ways just by following a few inexpensive changes.

First off, you must decide on a bedroom theme. Is it a victorian, modern, southwest, traditional or safari style that would suit your personality? Look in magazines, books or the internet to get a flavor of the accessories you would like to see in your home. Purchase accessories that go with the theme and color of your bedroom. Color choices should compliment the main color in the room.

Sometimes you might find that you already have all the accessories that you need but you just need to display them differently. It is recommended to group your accessories in odd numbers rather than even numbers. Different heights and textures are also attractive. For example, a night side table can have a lamp, picture frame and small pot of flowers as a grouping.

Hanging prints or pictures in your bedroom is a great way to make boring walls come to life. But most people don’t know how to properly hang wall art. Often times, pictures and artwork are hung too high on the wall giving it an awkward appearance. The rule of thumb is the picture should be hung so that the middle of the picture is at eye level. Art work should be placed no more than five to eight inches above the sofa or seven to ten inches above a table. Try to align pictures in different geometric shapes (vertical, circular, triangular or rectangular groupings) in various sizes for a different effect.

In the bedroom, night tables and bookcases are often found to be too cluttered and full of small knickknacks. Try to vary the size of the shelves vertically for interest. Vary the heights of books with the tallest in the middle. Don’t put small books next to tall books. Take off dust covers from books to show their often rich colors. The upper shelves can be used for candles, family pictures, fancy bowls or larger ornaments in odd number groupings of 1, 3 or 5 pieces. You can also mix and match books with ornaments, but make the books the focal point. Don’t leave a gap between the ceiling and the top of the bookcase. Place a plant on the top shelf for balance.

Lighting is key in the bedroom. You want to be able to set different moods. You might want subtle lighting for those romantic times, then you will also want bright lighting for getting ready to go to work. Accent a large picture with a spot light to enhance a focal point in a room. Lighting creates ambiance and should coordinate with the theme you want to create. Get creative with an old lamp by adding tassels, beads or decorative finials. Use faux paint or wrap funky fabric around the base to give it a new lift.

Area rugs can define a space and pull a bedroom together. Place furniture completely on the rug for a warmer effect. Area rugs used under a dining room table should be large enough to also accommodate the chairs when fully pulled out.

Use many pillows on the bed as this can add a splash of color in a bedroom. Vary the colors and patterns of the pillows and graduate the sizes from large to small. Pillows are also great on a sofa and will add tremendous character to a dull living room.

Mirrors are great to expand a smaller space. Try leaning a tall mirror behind a bed as a head board for a dramatic look! These mirrors can be five to six feet tall. It has an amazing effect!

You can give your master bedroom attached bath a spa appeal by placing clear glass bowls filled with colored soaps, bath salts or bubble bath beads on the bathroom counter. Candles are also nice on a bathtub. Low lighting with lit candles will sooth all your troubles away!

Have fun trying out new things. Shop around for different accessories for your bedroom. Try antique stores, consignment shops or flea markets for ideas. There are many craft books available that you can also explore. First impressions are lasting. Do not mix beautiful furniture with cheap accessories. Accessories can make or break the ambiance of your home. Be creative and trust your instincts!

DIY Gardening - Is It Advisable

July 26, 2008 | Category:Articles-Host | Author: admin

If you have a green thumb, then you are probably thinking about doing some DIY gardening. Whether it’s preparing the perfectly landscaped lawn or growing some vegetables, gardening is a fun and easy way to produce something plentiful with a little hard work.

Even though most gardening projects can be done by anyone, there are several factors to consider before moving ahead with a DIY gardening venture. Many people suffer from allergies every day and in every season, but allergy sufferers are especially affected during the spring and summer months. As such, before beginning a DIY gardening project, take a moment to consider whether or not you have allergies. If you do, how severe are they? Working outside for prolonged periods of time and/or doing extended lawn work can reek havoc on allergies.

While on the subject of allergies, it is important to know whether or not you are allergic to bees before going ahead with a DIY gardening project. If you are going to be working around the yard or the garden, you will need to be especially mindful of these nuisance insects that could end up causing you a real problem if you are allergic.

Another important aspect of DIY gardening is dressing for your environment. It’s probably a good idea to wear long pants and a long sleeve shirt. This will help to prevent mosquito bites, which could be a health concern during certain locations and times of the year. You will also want to wear protective gloves on your hand and be especially careful of what you touch. If you reach into an area that isn’t completely visible because of weeds or shrubbery, there is always the possibility of a snake or spider. Both can cause harmful effects, so be careful when reaching into the grass or when working outdoors.

In addition to the above considerations, deciding whether or not DIY gardening is right for you will also depend on the project itself. If you are working on the landscape, planting flowers or simply planting a few seeds for a garden, you may not have a problem in completing the task yourself. But, if you are having a tree removed from your property, having the entire lawn replanted or have a very large area that needs cared for, DIY gardening may not be possible. There is nothing wrong with enlisting a little help along the way, especially if a professional landscaping business is nearby.

The Magic of Annual Vines

July 26, 2008 | Category:Articles-Host | Author: admin

For the cost of a packet of seeds, you can quickly create a show stopping garden accent or a living hideaway for children, hide a rusty chain link fence or an unsightly garage wall, and turn an ordinary balcony into a private garden. Started from seeds, annual vines will scramble to heights of 20 feet or more, highlighting features you want to show off and covering eyesores.

Here are just a few of the many uses for annual vines:

- Add a little magic to your garden by planting a trellis or pole with brightly colored morning glories and moonflowers. You’ll have a burst of brightly colored flowers during the day, and luminescent white blossoms at night.

- Add shade and privacy to your balcony with annual vines. Because their root systems are limited, they can be grown in large planters on a trellis, or allowed to trail from window boxes and big hanging baskets. The vertical growing habit will make a small area seem larger.

- Annual vines are ideal for introducing your children to the magic of gardening. Build a teepee of bamboo or fallen tree branches, and plant with scarlet runner beans or tall nasturtiums. Your children will enjoy their colorful (and edible) hideaway while learning about the wonders of nature.

- Plant climbing vines along chain link fences and light poles to soften the look of your landscape.

- Annual vines will quickly blanket a problem slope or other area that is difficult to mow with colorful flowers. If your slope is difficult to plant, use a vine that will reseed itself such as morning glories or cardinal climbers.

- Plant vines along a southern wall to keep the house cooler in summer.

Annual vines are easy to grow. They like a sunny location with good quality, well drained soil. Plant your seeds according to the package directions, and keep them evenly moist until they germinate. After germination, you’ll only need to water when the weather has been extremely hot or dry. Use fertilizers sparingly. An abundance of nitrogen will encourage your vines to produce an abundance of dark green foliage and few flowers.

Have your trellises or other support in place when you plant your seeds. If you can’t plant right next to the support, insert twigs into the soil next to the seeds to lead the vines to their intended support. If the vine can’t find its support right away, it will waste time searching and reaching for something to grab on to.

Recommended Annual Vines

Black Eyed Susan Vine
Unlike many climbing vines, this one isn’t invasive so it can be incorporated into existing gardens without fear of crowding out existing plants. It’s a great choice for hanging baskets and window boxes.
Height: 5′ to 10′ trailing vine

Cardinal Climber Vine
The deep red flowers with white or yellow throats are sure to draw attention to your trellises, fences and poles.
Height: 6′ to 20′ vine

Cypress Vine
This vine can add a tropical texture to your landscape with its interesting foliage and mix of bright red, pink and white flowers. With the right conditions, it grows to 20 feet.
Height: 8′ to 10′ vine

Hyacinth Bean Vine
This striking vine will have your visitors asking if it’s real! The flowers are followed by velvety purple bean pods.
Height: 6′ - 20′ vine

Mina Lobata
‘Firecracker Vine’ or ‘Exotic Love,’ this unusual, exciting, interesting annual vine has up to 12 beautiful 2″ tubular flowers on each spike. Performs well on trellises and in hanging baskets. This is one of the few annual vines that will tolerate a little shade.
Height: 6′ to 10′

Moonflower
Plant this fast-growing vine on a porch, near an entrance, or under a window where you can enjoy the evening performance and heady fragrance. The flowers bloom only at night, and unfold in 2-3 minutes, and event worth waiting for!
Height: 10′ to 20′ vine

Morning Glories
In the summer, flowers open in the morning, and in the fall they stay open all day. Morning glories are grown as a groundcover in difficult areas.
Height: 8′ - 10′ vine
